Community Music with the Philharmonie
A season to inspire and bring Luxembourg together
For the past 20 years, the Philharmonie has stood firm in its belief that music can be a tool to empower individuals and communities. Building upon this commitment, we have partnered with Paper Lantern Collective to design a special participatory project for the 2025/26 season.
Starting in October 2025, musicians and artists from a range of different backgrounds will offer creative workshops open to all. Families with children, young people, adults, senior citizens: anyone and everyone is invited to come together to make music, sing, dance, create, and –most importantly – connect.
After a few months of regular gatherings, the project’s finale will take the form of a festive neighbourhood party including art, food, and self-made paper lanterns – a beautiful moment to celebrate the arrival of spring together!
At the heart of this initiative is the core belief that access to art is an essential human right and that everyone, regardless of skill or upbringing, can be an artist. With its unique ability to foster connections and build bridges, community music can be a powerful force for good in our fragmented societies.
We look forward to working with Paper Lantern Collective and with many participants to bring life – and light – to the Luxembourg culture scene in 2025/26.
